4 easy steps to distress your Jeans

What you need:

Your chosen Jeans
Scissors
Scalpel
White Pen/Pencil or Tailors chalk
Measuring Tape
Thick Card

1.
Wear your chosen pair of jeans that currently don’t make the grade in the fashion world, and with a white pencil or tailors chalk place a mark around the knee area that you feel best suits. (Ive marked this on one leg of my jeans, but feel free to do so on the other leg if you wish.)

2.
Now (get back into your pjs or joggers) place the jeans on a flat surface and with a measuring tape measure from the bottom of your jeans to the white mark you have made on the jeans. With this measurement mark the same length on the other leg for accuracy. Extend both of the marks along the width of the leg as this will be your guide for when you make your first cut.

3.
Now roughly fold a thick piece of card (I’ve used the card that you find at the back of a writing pad) and place this inside one of the legs underneath your white mark. This makes sure your don't cut through the other side of the leg,now with a scalpel  make a small cut along your marked out line  (use scissors if you wish to make the cut deeper or if you don't have a scalpel)

4.
With your hands carefully stretch the cut and it should naturally tear across the original mark you had made. Repeat this step for the other leg and as easy as that they’re ready to wear!
